Since I'm 13 I'm Interested in Manipulation

Side project started by Alexander Von Borsig of Einsturzende Neubauten, as his current project was constricting the kind of musical work he was wanting to create and perform. Fans of Neubauten may think this sounds strange but when you actually hear MDK, it will make more sense taken in stride with the time period this EP was actually recorded (1982). He eventually went back to the band to handle their audio engineering and live sound of their performances but up to that point, he had done work under various projects with P1 E, Blasse, Sentimentale Jugend, Mekanik Destruktiw Komandoh and Sprung Aus Den Wolken. Listen to the record!

As a side note Mekanik Destruktiw Komandoh was the name of the best known album by the French Apocalyptic doom/prog band Magma

Yeah, I suppose I thought there was enough stuff out there that people just automatically knew about Magma already but you made an interesting point earlier today that that might just not be the case. Julian Cope's comment on the Magma album of the same name is pretty funny: "Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh - was actually part 3 of an unfolding 9LP series known as Theusz Hamtaahk. In Christian Vander’s utopian mind, rock’n’roll was now at a cultural place in the collective mind of humanity where it could possibly be used to help us take giant leaps forward via a few forward-thinking motherfuckers such as he." I had heard of the album but didn't realize it was part of a conception that would involve 8 other records. This ain't no Bat Out Of Hell, mother fuckers!
