Aryawn Nation as Opera

Video of Aryawn's performance at the bridge that was occupied on the anniversary of the Enrages blockades in Paris in the grand old year of 1968.

Synopsis:

Act I: GW Bush awakens to realize that his dreams of power and conquest can no longer be realized through good ol' boy politics. He tastes the blood thirst of the Presidency and decides that things need to be taken a stage further than they ever have. After participating in a retreat that puts him in touch with his inner fascist, he performs a sacred ritualistic dance and raises the spirit of the wizened Ronald Reagan, who offers him all the power of his wildest dreams. Reagan's offer has a catch, though, and he inhabits the body of Bush in exchange for this unparamounted power. The deal is stricken and Bush rises to power.

Act II: Bush rises to power and the people of the US feel safe while under his sway. Mass celebrations occur across the country and everyone feels unified in their blind trust of his leadership. He embraces the soul of Reagan, who gains more and more control over his actions and thoughts. The soul fuck commences and the two become one.

Act III: Awareness slowly creeps into the consciousness of the American people as Bush's lies become more and more apparent. An opposing form of witchcraft makes itself manifest as the people perform their own spells and exorcise their rites. The exorcism casts the spirit of Reagan out of Bush's body, who screeches in horror at the sound of free speech in its purest form. Bush's own lust for power consumes him and he perishes in a flame of his own making. The people celebrate geniunely this time as they stomp out his remains, resolute in their decision to finally take their lives into their own hands. The burning embers scatter to the winds; some are frightened by this instantaneous freedom that has suddenly become foisted on them and they attempt to take refuge in the ways of the past but they are no more. Some revel and some are left in stark fear of where to go from here. They are already dead. The empty page stares us in the face; its blankness awaiting the touch of our pen. Do we dare make the first mark?
