Aye!

Named after the Glasgow suburb of Battlefield, Battlefield Band have been a constant presence throughout the revival in Scottish music over the past 30 years. Playing a creative mixture of old and new songs performed in the Scottish tradition, they have not allowed themselves to be pigeon-holed into a traditional musical landscape. Bagpipes, fiddle, synthesiser, guitar, flutes, bodhran and accordion are all a part of their musical repertoire and do not distract from the inherent traditional sound they create- much to the listeners' surprise and joy.

There will be a small US tour in October of 2007 and then again in March of 2008. If you're in the States during that time period, they would be a worthwhile band to seek out. Of course, they tour pretty regularly throughout the UK. Check out their website for more tour dates around the world. Those with a penchant for the Celtic will be in for a treat.

Hey, Squeesh.

Yeah, it's been a while since I've done any posts. I've been spending a lot of my free time working on these drawings for a book that's about to see print and haven't had much time to devote to the blog.

There are music files available, just no scans for them as yet. More soon, I promise!
